Question
We are planning to take a cruise to the Caribbean and at our stop in Jamaica (3rd day of cruise)we have chosen to have a private beach wedding. How do we word this on our invitations and provide booking information to those who choose to attend.

Answer
Dear Lori,

Check out this website for ideas for your invitations and wording.

If you are sending a STD you can get creative such as a bottle with sand and a note inside telling your guests:  Example:

Save the Date
of October 15, 2010
for
Lori and Dave's wedding
to take place in Jamaica

Formal invitation to follow

Include in the STD, all the details of cruise information as well as a meeting place and anything else your guests need to know regarding the trip.  You can give them an outline of planned activities, so they know what to expect. This is the place to let your guests  know they will be on a cruise, with the wedding taking place on a beach.

Work with a travel agent or cruise line, and to see if they give any discounts for destination wedding guests.  It also wouldn't hurt to have your own wedding coordinator to take care of the details so you don't have to worry about anything.  Put all this information in with the Save the Date so your guests can start making plans.

Hope this helps.  Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
