Weddings/Wedding Rings

Question
I apologize if my question is off topic, but I think it might fall under your area of expertise - "wedding traditions."  I frequently shop in stores and malls where there are many young mothers.  I have noticed that *none* of them ever are wearing a wedding ring.  I know that there are many single moms these days, but I assume that some of them would be married.  I would like to know if some married women are choosing not to wear a wedding ring.  I am not trying to be judgmental about them, I am just curious. Thank you.

Answer
Hi Alicia,

Sorry I didn't get back sooner, but just got back into the country.

You have an interesting question.  I haven't heard anything about this being a trend, however, I do know that some women will separate their engagement and wedding rings and wear them of separate hands, however, this isn't often.  My guess is that these young mothers aren't married.  There's always those who wash their hands, take off their rings, and the forget to put them back on.  Divorce will also make a woman take her rings off.

I'd hazard a guess that most are probably not married, but this hasn't become a trend.

Hope this helps.  Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
