Question
Hi,
I have a 2pm wedding to go to on Sept. 1, 2007. My husband is one of the groomsmen and is wearing a Tux. The invititation says "Formal Reception". Can I were a shiny print dress that is black & silver that hits me just below the knee? Or, do you think the print (almost an abstract/asymetrical checker board pattern) is too wild?
Thanks for your help.

Answer
Given that it is an afternoon wedding in the summer, I don't see that as being too wild- especially with it only being black and silver.  However, without seeing the dress it is hard to judge. Normally, summer weddings are open to more fun dressing combinations and afternoon weddings are fine for cocktail dresses.

However, the most important thing is that you are comfortable. If either you or your husband thinks it's too wild, you may look for something a bit more conservative.

Please let me know if I can help you further or with anything else.

Best wishes,
Helen =)
