Started as a family business over 75 years ago I now own and operate a catering & banquet facility for over 30 years and have catered small cookout events to large formal ones with everything in between. Experience I have preformed almost every service needed at a reception from invitations, hosting and catering the event to photographing, dj and honeymoon plans with the latter being special circumstances. I have worked and hosted weddings up to 750 guest and other functions up to two thousand. With well over 30 years experiance of consulting with brides I have seen much of what works and does not.

Question Hi it's me again Gayle. After taking your advice I went back to several reception facilites and made a few calls to others. After asking what you told me to I ended up saving over $2000. I must thank you again. My next question is how do I get a good deal on invitations, entertainment, wedding cake and photography?
Answer I am happy I was able to help you, as far as your other questions a lot of things depend on what you want. I have a website for some of my invitations it is listed at the bottom. This site shows many invitations and can give you many ideas. You will notice there is a large price range between the different styles and it is ultimently going to depend on what you like. If you look locally again find out what additional charges are and what the bottom line is. Entertainment there are bands and DJs with the latter usually cheaper. Just ask to see them preform and watch the guest. Do they play the type of music the group wants or what they want. Some will come with and without light shows and sometimes at additional cost. Also check for the hours they will be playing like is dinner music included? Wedding cake I don't remember if I answered about this or if it was one of my own clients but if you plan on serving the cake as dessert you will need a bigger one and they cost $2.50 a slice and up around here. I reccomend using the cateres dessert or sheetcakes and then asmaller "wedding cake" for show.
Photography Again find out what you will get and how much will that package cost so you can compare "apples to apples" Lately I have seen ditigal photographers around offering a cheaper price. I really can't tell you all the pros and cons on this as they would apply to wedding pictures and would reccomend asking one of the other photographer experts to explain this.
