About Emma
Expertise
I am really interested in weddings, and seeing as I planning my own,and I have planned others, I know a lot about this subject. Ask me about anything from what colors to use or if you should invite kids or whatnot. I can give tips on the reception, food, or the ceremony, anything from A to Z, ask away!

Experience
Attend bridal shows to see the latest trends, and have planned weddings for others.

Weddings - renewing wedding vows

Expert: Emma - 9/2/2004

Question
Dear Emma:  My husband and I would like to renew our wedding vows.  We would like to do this on  a different day than our anniversary.  We were married by a JP with a very small ceremony.  So I have no idea how to plan for this.  We would like to do this again with a very small ceremony.  We are not members of a church. Shall I call churches to find one that does this or do JP's also renew vows.  Any suggestion would be helpful.  Thank you.  M

Answer
Hi M,
You don't need a justice of the peace because you are already legally married. If you still want one, you can call churches or venues and see who officiates for renewals. Or, if you so choose, you can find a close friend or special family member to conduct the ceremony. You can be as creative as you want!! I hope this helps.
