Question I used to work with a girl who trained really really hard to be in a fitness competition. She had a very strict diet and exercise plan. My question to you is how do I begin to train for something like this without a trainer? And do you know how much protein or other foods I'd actually need daily? I know it's kind of a complex question, but I've had a hard time trying to find anything on line. And I truly want to start working for this. If you know of a site that would be great! After attending her competition a few years ago it has been my dream to be able to actually compete myself. I know it can take years of training, but I would really like to start working for it right away. Any start tips or ANYTHING would help. I know people that compete have pretty different schedules/lifestyles than those who are just looking to be in shape.
Answer Avery,
It is a complex question and something you will still have to do some research on. I am limited because I cannot see you but I can guide you in the right direction. Do you want to compete? What kind of contest? Have you selected it yet? I would look a year out at least if you are just starting now.
OK.
What do you eat now?
What is your body like now?
Weight, measurements, etc.
That's a start. Then we can look at what you need to do to build and I can give you some ideas there.
Thanks, Karen
