Question
I am a 150# 70 year old man in good health wanting to get back in shape. Have not exercised regularly since I left boot camp in the 60s. Need help on setting up a program of exercises what are your thoughts.
Neil USMC

Answer
Hi Neil,

So your 70 and you have not exercised regularly since your were about 20 something, is that correct?

If it is I would start a slow workout with light weighs and build that up. A great workout program is at www.bmgfitness.com/workout

That is a good workout for most anyone, and should work well for you as a good start. Start with low weights, and don't overdo it. I know men in their 70's that are running marathons, and a lady in her 70's that did the Hawaii Ironman last year.

The main thing is that while you want to stress the muscles you do not want to injure yourself so be very careful not to do any serious damage, as we age the body heals slower.

Hope this helps

Have a great day

Jerry
