Question Ok during the summer I worked on my sprint, endurance and speed. I can run up and down the court with ease now.I will do track in the spring and want to be on varsity this year for 100m and 200m. I am doing basketball conditioning where they make me do distance running, which I think is stupid because I get better resulst from sprinting. So, what can I do to keep my speed up during the basketball season while we do this darn endurance running for the track season?
Answer Bobby,
Honestly, tell your coach to get a clue. Obviously he doesn't understand sports preparation if you guys are focusing on endurance training for an explosive sport like basketball. He can contact me if he would like to discuss this further, but it sounds like he doesn't have a clue.
