Question
Hi, I am 19 years old, 5 ft 10 inches tall and i weigh 165 pounds.
I have been weight training for nearly a year and have seen very slight improvements in my strength. My goal is to get stronger with minimum weight gain because i am already stocky. However if there is no way to gain strength without gaining weight i will somehow adjust with it since strength is my priority. So please suggest me a solid workout that will promote maximum strength gains in the shortest time possible. I currently follow stronglifts 5 x 5 but now i have plateaued. I have not been seeing any strength gains for the past 1 month. I want pure, raw, functional strength. Please help.

Thanks

Answer
let's see...you're 19, been lifting on some patented formlua for 1 year without much in gains and you somehow imagine you have "plateaued"?
....
ok, forget whatever bodybuilding rhetoric you've been fed, you really want FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH? then follow this....

monday...musclesnatch, 10x2.
tuesday...powerclean&press, 10x2.
wednsday...cleanpulls,10x2..&..(rack)standing.overheadpress,10x2.
thursday...overhandgrip:deadlift, 10x2..&..(rack)PUSHpress,10x2.
friday...front.squat,3x10..benchpress,3x10..chinups,3x max. reps.
