Question Hello there, I'm ibrahim and I'm 18. I started going to gym since 6 days. And I've been
excercising using heavy weights. The thing is that yesterday I was working out and I was
on "Machine Chest Press" and in my first set I had 10kg and my 2nd and 3rd I had 15 kg
which was very heavy but I kept some effort and in my 3rd set and last rep SUDDENLY I
started having a headache at the back of my head for half an hour. And the next day
when I woke up and I had the same headache for half an hour too. I went to the gym at
night which was tonight and as soon as I lifted weight it started again. So I need to know
if I could ever treat this headache and excercise comfortably and how to treat it?
Thank you.
Answer Hi Ibrahim,
My first suggestion would be to check with a physician, a headache can be caused by so many things that it is hard to say. Get a qualified physician to do a complete and thorough exam.
Sorry I can't be of more help, but a headache is the body's way of telling us there is something wrong, it is just too vague for any type of "diagnosis". Your physician can do various tests and possibly pinpoint the problem, and then recommend treatment options.
I would cut down the weight and go slower until I have actually seen the physician and I would also try to find a physician that specializes in sports medicine.
