Question QUESTION: Hi i have been lifting now for 2.5 months and in that months i have been able to increase my chest maximum from 20 - 45. I train 3 times a week on my body but do each body part only once is this enough. I eat alot of meat and take whey protein powder after training. Would you be able to tell roughly how long it would take me before i would be lifting 70 - 100 Kg ? Finally i after doing the training for the 2.5 moths i can lift more but my chest has not increased much in size neither has my biceps but i can still lift more. would you be able to tell me how long into weight training it takes before i would normally see some changes in size ?
thankyou
ANSWER: I always recomend working your whole body each time you workout.
I do not do "body part" workouts.
3 times a week is good for a beginner's plan, but 3 times working the whole body. as to time tables or predicted expectations of when or how fast etc...everybody is different, you might get bigger or stronger very slowly, but what I've noticed over the years is that it's usually those guys, relentlessly lifting, making fractional gains over long periods that turn up being the strongest in the end.

QUESTION: so howlong will it take to start noticin my muscle size increase as i sed i can lift more. also if i train 3 times a week hard into to hypertrophy wouldnt that be classed as over training ?
Answer try this. train your whole body twice per week.
use HEAVY compound exercises in the 3 rep range, for 7-9 sets.
hypertrophy is what happens while you're NOT working out. your muscles recover then adapt.
forget trying to see muscle size today. this isn't like going to a fast food restaurant and getting what you want immediatly. it's going to take TIME. when you're getting stronger you'll know you are on your way to getting bigger. be patient.
