Weightlifting & Exercise/returning to the gym after hernia surgery
I had open surgery on a hernia on my stomach above the belly button 1 month ago. I want to go back to the gym and would like to know is it too soon and what exercises i can do when i do return?

When you do go back...
Try this simple and effective program...
Do two exercises.
Push press off the rack and overhandgrip dead lifts
Here is the cycle to begin with
Lift Monday through Friday
Do 3 sets of 3 reps. Each exercise.
Begin with light enough weight that it feels very easy.
Add weight each week.
When you hit a weight you can,t do for 3 reps, take a week off
Start doing 4 sets of 2 reps with a very light weight, and add weight each week
Next cycle is 5 x1
When you hit 5x1 for 3 weeks...start over with 3x3...
