Weightlifting & Exercise - Injured trap

Expert: Brian - 8/7/2006

Question
hey there, i'm mo, aged 19, i have been lifting for over 18months now, i injured my trap in january 06, nd it healed and i returned to the gym about march, however last week it injured again nd i do not even know how, i just woke up on monday morning after my 2days of rest over the weekend nd it was feeling injured, went to the gym but didnt lift weights, but it feels injured for sure, wat can i do>?

Answer
Injuring your trap muscle is exceedingly rare. Have you talked to a doctor, or is this a self diagnosis? Either way, I would recommend talking to your doctor about it. You could be dealing with something like a neck (vertabrae/disk)...but I'm not a doctor, so talk to someone who is.
