WHY would one set of 15 exercises be pointless?especially if all the exercises focus on the same muscle group?  

Answer
Hi

Because each exercise you do for that same muscle group is a different movement and also a different part of the muscle is being worked. for example if you were working your chest with a bench press, thats a pushing type of movement but if you then worked your chest doing dummbell flyes thats a pulling type of movement.

Thats why 1 set of 15 would be pointless
