Expert: Brian - 8/8/2006

Question
hi im sabari im a 17 year old guy n ive decided to start getting into into shape n develop som muscles so i downloaded som exercise for every part n im about to start but im quite lean so should i first increse my body weight and then exercise then only will i develop muscles or if i exercise now itself  will i develop muscles?im 5'10" n i weigh 55 kgs(125 pounds)

Answer
sabari - it is difficult, to be sure, to gain weight at your age. the best way to gain muscle is by weightlifting. you can't go out and eat junk food and get fat and then turn that fat into muscle by working out. you have to work hard, and eat well.
