Question
Can you give me any pointers on keeping my cap stringer beads from rolling over or coming out cold in my horizontal groove welds.  I am holding my rod at about a 45 to 50 degree angle and running 7018 at about 100 amps.

Answer
You didn't say what size rod you are useing. A 3/32 would run around 80 to 90 amps. A 1/8 rod would run around 125 to 150 amps. From what you are saying sounds like you are running to cold. Try turning up your heat. If you start throwing a lot of bb's you are running too hot.  Hope this helps!

Let me know!  Belinda
