Question
I am in school studying welding.  Right now we are doing plate groove welds in all positions and pipe welding.  I am trying to get some info. on securing my first job.  I want to make top dollar and am willing to travel in the US.  Thanks

Answer
Structural welding is going strong everywhere.
The Boilermakers cover a lot of shipyards and they are busy as all hell.
For big bucks with hard work, go pipeline across the midwest.

The gas companies are investing in a massive expansion of the natural gas pipeline infrastructure right now.
All the pipeliners I know are absolutely buried in work.
