Question
I am 22 years old and have tought myself almost everything about welding with pionters as i go. i have passed several tests at local factories and things. i want to relocate to fort worth and i am looking at jobs down there. it seems they pay alot more for people who can pass a 6g test. i know what that is, and i am pretty good with arc welding. i have 5 years experiance and 3 with "welding job" can you give me some heads up and things to practice before i go and take these tests please! i am have a little difficulty with overhead and vertical up.

Answer
Dear Nick,

I take it you haven't taken any pipe test. Plate and pipe aren't much different except you are combining all 4 plate positions into one test. Most test are either 2 in. or 6 in. pipe.If you can look into the questions I have already answered you will, I hope, get the info you need. If not please write back to me and i will be more specific. The main thing for you will be to practice, practice, practice. Please let me know how you do!

Belinda
