Bruce Willis is a left hander but as a child, he went to school in Germany. In Europe most of left-handers have been "drilled" to write with their right hand :-( - so this is why Bruce is writing with right, shooting and so with left.

This is a very big problem in Europe, left-handers have been discriminated a long time; my brother was born 1974 and he can't write anymore with his left hand. With a lots of problems in school... :-((

Hi, I wondered this too and was told that it was because the director didn't want the audience to see that he was no longer wearing his wedding ring.

I understand that he deliberately learned to write with his right hand to disguise the fact that he was no longer wearing his wedding ring (recall the final scene).  This way he could keep his left primarily hidden or at least not in plain view.

Taken from sixth sense imdb: While circling a passage in the notes, Bruce Willis does so with his right hand. Willis is actually left-handed; he learned how to write right-handed so that viewers wouldn't notice that his wedding band was no longer on his hand. (so as not to give away the big plot twist!)

The director's didn't want the audience to notice that he hadn't been wearing his wedding ring the whole time in the movie because they feared it would give away the twist ending, so he forced himself to write with his right.

Somewhere I read that it was so noone would see that he wasn't wearing his wedding ring when he was wrting.

he learned to write right handed to hide the fact that his character was not wearing his wedding ring, because  at the end, his wife dropped his ring and you see he never had it all along - big pointer to the fact he was actually dead.

The reason Bruce Willis is right handed in the sixth sense is so one doesn't see that he is not wearing his wedding ring throughout the movie.

I hope this helps!

I have followed the career of Bruce Willis since his "Moonlighting" days. I know quite a bit of tidbit information on Bruce`s films. Questions on Bruce`s personal life I may not be able to answer. I do not know much about Bruce`s personal life away from what we see on the silver screen. Any questions about a Bruce Willis movie, I should have the ability to answer. I own almost all of Bruce`s films and have seen many of them several times. I also enjoy finding out about behind the scenes information. For these reasons I hope you will consider me an expert of Bruce Willis.
