currently working in an IT Department...I dont answer any Questions about Server Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Products....As the freqent questions about Password related topics are rising up, i dont answer any Questions about "How do i logon my system when i forgot my password". Answering this would be against the laws in my country, and excuse me, i dont know you and nobody can prove me that you really want to log on to your pc and not anyone else. Thx in advance.

Windows 2000 - websites from drop down button

Question
Hi Tom,
I use Windows 2000. When I browse the internet, and start typing a website address, I would prefer not to have the computer automatically show (via drop down listing) every website I have ever surfed to.  How can I keep the website field clean, so I can just type what I want, without being reminded of the past history?
Thanks.  Glen

Answer
sorry this is behaviuor by design as microsoft always says look here

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie6/using/howto/basics/history/button.mspx

you can only limit how many days the information is stored....or delete the information complete after each use

regards

Thomas
