Question
I'm having the popular problem of the blue screen that says inaccessible_boot_device when i try to start up windows 2000 on my main PC. i have no backup of any of the data on there and i will do virtually anything to get it back. like the rest i have tried safe mode and last known configuration and it brings up the same blue screen, please can you help me with any suggestions at all?
thanks
Ash

Answer
install Windows 2000 over itself without partitioning/formatting the harddisk, it will tell you that it has found an existing Windows on the Harddrive and if u want to replace it, choose YES and you will loose no personal data in that case, but every software has to be reinstalled afterwards including the Service Packs....thats one way, the other would be to insert the drive in another PC and backup your data on this machine then....afterwards you could install yours from scratch...

but this will only work when the drive is not damaged...

currently working in an IT Department...I dont answer any Questions about Server Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Products....As the freqent questions about Password related topics are rising up, i dont answer any Questions about "How do i logon my system when i forgot my password". Answering this would be against the laws in my country, and excuse me, i dont know you and nobody can prove me that you really want to log on to your pc and not anyone else. Thx in advance.
