Question
I installed win 64 bit on a new 500 gb hard drive.

It worked OK but if I shut down the system it tells me it is shutting down.

And takes 29 sec or so.

And when it starts up it gets to the win logo and stays there for 20 sec or so before it gets to the logon screen.

And my inturnal secondary hard drive shows up off and on.

I made win check the drive fore bad sectors and fix them and still no good.

Answer
Hi Bob
How much memory does your system have?  Windows 7 64 bit should have minimum of 4 gig.

What size is the SWAP file (virtual memory)?

Use the hard drive manufacturers utilities to verify the health of the the hard drive.

The times that you provide really are not that bad, especially after all the drivers, and software has been installed.
