Question Hello, I have an old film recorder that must run on Windows 95. My computer is a modern AM2 with dual core. I can partition and multiOS the ATA100 drive. But, will 95 even run on this machine? What's the newest mobo that can handle 95 if I have to go searching for dinomobos?
Thanks, Paul
Answer Hi Paul, is this a file recorder hardware device that's plugged into the computer? What kind of connector is it using? I'm not sure if you tried this already, but Windows XP has the compatibility feature which may be able to emulate it as Windows 95 in some cases. To run this, right click on the program you use to run this and go to Properties. Then go to the Compatibility tab and choose to emulate Windows 95.
If that doesn't work, you might have to try creating a dual boot on this computer. The biggest issue that I see occurring here is finding the Windows 95 device drivers since most modern boards will not have them.
I would go with an older machine if you can. Buy like a Pentium III computer.
