Subject: Uninstalling W98 and Microsoft

Question
Is there any way to completely get rid of W98 and all of Microsoft?  I have an HP Pavilion, Intel Celeron Processor 433MHz, 96 MB SDRAM Memory, 9.6 GB DMA Hard Drive, 32 bit driver, with W98. I want to install Xubuntu. Can't afford a new computer.

Answer
Hi Pat,

Asked a friend who came back with the following:

Early in the installation she will be offered the option to keep (but resize) the existing partitions and that will be the default option.  On that screen, she should look for an option that will offer something like "guided using the entire drive" and she will be able to delete all of the existing stuff.

So, put the Xubnutu CD in and follow the above.

Hope this helps!
Lorry
