Question hi,
i just bought a secondhand used laptop
and i want to change the ownership properties on it
i chased the name to mine but when i login from my password protected screen saver, it says the old owners account name

Answer Hi Dmitri, does it retain your new name when you login from Windows? The best method to do this is to create a new account with your name instead. I think even if you do change your display name, the actual folder name (C:\Documents and Settings\....) won't have the Dmitri folder. I could be wrong, but I think changing the name there will only change the display name title but not the physical folder name.
