Windows 95/98 - Digital Photos Upload

Expert: Lorry - 7/7/2008

Question
QUESTION: My Kodak Easy Share for W98 is now giving me noting but problems with zero help from Kodak and I am through with it for good. Are there any free programs available to basically upload photos from my digital camera for this system.
Thanks

ANSWER: Hi Dan,

It would be best if you used the software that came with your camera. What is the model number?

QUESTION: Hey Lorry,
I tried that software many times by installing-reinstalling-running the repair program and seeking tech advice from Kodak (they won't reply). Nothing works! Can't up load photos any more from camera CX7430 (get  message "can't read device") and a few other problems with all the other photos that reside in the Kodak file. I just want to get the photos from my camera to my computer. Camera model is properly installed on this computer.
Is there something that came with W98 to accomplish this?
I tried uploading my photos after uninstalling the Easy Share software and nothing happens.
Many thanks for your prompt reply,
Dan

Answer
Hi Dan,

At this point wasn't sure, so I asked my brother for his advice, as I have a cheap digital camera that has to be plugged into the computer to download the pictures.

I imagine the Easy Share has some sort of removable memory that will
plug into a cheap USB adapter (if he has W98 second release). If it is a
valid W98 he will still need drivers for any USB device. Recommend that he take the camera to Staples or OfficeMax and ask for assistance with the USB device.

Hope this helps!
Lorry
