Question Hi, somehow when trying to get to my Windows password I accidently set and locked the power up password....how do I go about unlocking and removing that password. I am using win98
Answer Hello,
It sounds like you set a BIOS password. Unfortunately, there is no one easy way to fix this. Different computers have different versions of BIOS with different types of security. Some have "backdoor" passwords you can enter. Here is a good place to start:

The other option is to reset the BIOS to factory default settings. Sometimes this can be done through a reset button on the motherboard. Also, removing the BIOS battery from the motherboard and unplugging the PC for a few hours can also force a rest.
I hope this helps!
