Question
I burned some pictures on a CD using Windows 98, now I am trying to read these pictures from an XP machine and can't see the pictures at all, I can only see the empty folders.
How can I read these pictures on windows XP?

Answer
Hi Mohamed, were these burned recently? I have seen this kind of problem in the past where certain type of CD readers don't like certain brands of CDs used for burning. You might want to try using another type of CD brand or see if you can set the burn speed to a slower speed to see if it helps.

If this is the only copy on the CD, try using it on another computer to see if the same problem occurs. If you still have a Windows 98 computer, try opening it there to verify that the data/photos is indeed all intact. CDs do deteriorate over time, so if this is really old, that could also be a reason. Usually you won't be able to read the CD at all though...
