Question QUESTION: Hi Kevin,
I have an old Toshiba Satellite 2520cds running Win98 SE, and I'm trying to set up wireless with my Fios router. I installed a Cisco Aironet 350 Wireless PCMCIA card and it recognizes it, but I can't figure out what settings to change so it recognizes my network.
Thanks!
ANSWER: Hi James,
You just need to enter the wireless parameters to connect to the router. Do you have another computer that connects to this wireless router?
If you don't know the information to enter, you will need to go into the router by using a regular network cable for the time being. You will need to check the wireless settings and change it to what you want for the SSID name, password/encryption, etc.
If you still need help with this, let me know where you are having the problem.
Kevin.

QUESTION: Hi Kevin,
My trouble is this laptop doesn't have an ethernet port so I can't connect it with a network cable. I put in my SSID but Win98 has so many options I don't know what else to fill in.
Thanks!
Answer Do you have another computer that you can connect to the router (either wireless or using a network cable)? Do you know all the parameters to fill in? If so, see if you can use the program that comes with the Cisco PCMCIA card to configure the wireless connection. It might allow you to configure it with ease over the Windows 98 connection settings.
