Windows 95/98 - can't access floppy files

Expert: Lorry - 11/3/2009

Question
I have files saved on 3.5 disks saved in Windows 98. New computer is Vista and I can't get the floppys open.  Keep getting the message "must format disk".  Any hope of getting to these files?

Answer
Hi Annna,

Open Windows Explorer, put the floppy in the drive, right click that drive, click Properties, uncheck Read Only, now see if you can open the files.

If that doesn't work, I would suggest posting this question to James at:

Hope this helps!
