Question I HAVE AN OLD COMPUTER THAT HAS WINDOWS 98 ON IT. I WANT TO ERASE THE CURRENT OPERATING SYSTEM IN HOPES THAT I CAN INSTALL ANOTHER OPERATING SYSTEM I HAVE FOR MY DELL LAPTOP, WHICH HAS VISTA. I WANT TO DO THIS SO I CAN HOOK UP THE INTERNET TO THE OLD COMPUTER AS WELL AS THE LAPTOP.

Answer Hi Candice, what problems are you having with this computer now? Windows 98SE should have no problems connecting to the internet. If anything, you can add a wireless card or network adapter (if it doesn't have one) instead of using the old modem for dial-up.
If you still want to upgrade, I recommend going with Windows 2000 at most. It looks like this computer can only handle 512MB of RAM (max). Even Windows XP will lag since the memory is only decent for it and I'm sure the processor on this computer won't have enough power to give you better performance.
