Windows 95/98 - Can't increase resolution above 640 x 480

Expert: Lorry - 6/19/2009

Question
Hi. My computer seems locked on a 640 x 480 resolution.
I can't increase the "resolution" via the resolution instrument in the "Settings" tab found within the "Display" icon in the "Control Panel".

Answer
Hi Bill,

Try updating the video driver. You can go to the manufacture's site and download the latest version.

To find out which one you have, right Click on My Computer and select properties. A new Window will open click on "Device Manager" Another window will open. In this new window "Device Manager" look for Display Adapter press the + symbol. And it should show you what Graphics card you have.

Hope this helps!
