Windows 95/98 - installing windows xp

Expert: Kevin - 7/9/2009

Question
I have a laptop now using windows vista. I want to change to windows xp. Now I need to format my hard drive and do clean install of windows xp.
Which is the best way to do it and what software to use as I cannot install xp without formatting and clean up the hard drive.
Thanks,
alvin.

Answer
Hi Alvin, there is no data to backup right? This sounds like it's a new laptop, so you won't mind losing everything there.

It's very simple. Just insert the XP CD and boot from it. Follow the on-screen instructions. You will get to a screen where you can delete the Windows Vista partition and format it to install XP.

If you run into any issues, feel free to post back where you are having problems.

Kevin.
