Windows 95/98 - restoring an application

Expert: Lorry - 7/16/2009

Question
I accidently changed my "PAINT" application & now it won't start. It says not compatable with WIN32. It has something to do with its log(I think). how can I get it restored?

Answer
Hi Redly003,

There should be a copy of MSPaint.exe in the C:\Windows\System32 folder and the C:\Windows\System32\dll cache folder. Just use one of them and create a shortcut and drag & drop it into the C:\Documents & Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories folder.

If it isn't there, browse the Windows CD for it and install from there.

Hope this helps!
Lorry
