Question
Kevin i was just recently given a computer and its windows 98 the piece that allows the computer to charge was broken is there anyway i can have this fixed? please help me.

Answer
Hi glorikabriley,

There is a way to fix this but it's not going to be easy. Since this is a laptop, usually the entire unit needs to be disassembled to reach the charge port. After doing that, depending on whether or not that charge port is a separate board or soldered to the motherboard, it will need to be replaced.

Either way, you might want to bring this to a repair shop and ask for an estimate. It might not be worth the cost to repair it and the part might not be an easy one to find since this sounds like it's a really old laptop.

Kevin.
