Q: Using win98, i have missing Modem.cpl, & there is no icon in Control Panal of Modem. HELP ME.
Answer -
Is the modem installed?  YES I HAVE INSTALLED.

Answer
We know that your modem is installed.  Go to the Control Panel to the modem icon and check to see if the modem is listed there in the box.  Sometimes modems do not install correctly.  You will see two buttons below the box where you should see the name of the modem.  One is Add, the second is Remove, and the third is Properties.  Click on Properties.  If you discover that the modem is corrupt, click on Remove and the modem will be removed.  Then click on Add and the modem will be reinstalled.  Try this.

Expertise

I can answer general questions about Windows 95 and 98 such as how to find a missing file, how to use the Internet, printer troubleshooting issues for inkjet printers. I can also answer questions that new users of computers might pose. I am an advanced user and an expert in Windows 95 and Windows 98. Please don't ask me questions about sound cards, video cards, motherboards and the like. I do not build computers and so do not deal with hardware.

Experience

I taught myself how to use computers using the OS (operating system) Windows 95. This was in the year 1998. I worked with Windows 95 for 1 year and I helped solve many computer problems for others in the library who were not as advanced as I was. In 1999, I was given a computer running Windows 98 on it for my birthday/Christmas. I learned Windows 98 and became an expert on it and I have solved many people's problems with 98. I have been consulted by many in my hometown when they need help solving a problem with Windows 98. I have given tech support to many people.

Education/Credentials
I am a high school graduate.
