Expert: Lorry - 3/5/2004
QuestionHi Lorry
I have little knowledge being of the older generation, but have a vague idea of whats gone wrong but do not know how to resolve problem.A little while ago i had a mouse problem it just disapeared.I called in an expert and his solution was to put in a new hard drive which i think was not needed i did not have original installation disc and it was installed with one of his own which was windows 98SE could this be be part of my problem? which is as follows. When i run the installation disc for photodeluxe3.1 it seems to have succeeded my camera a kodak DC215 is recognised as the pictures come up on screen, however when i click on the desktop Photodeluxe icon it fails to appear and two error messages appear one is The SHELL32DLL File is linked to missing export SHLWAPI.DLL;SHRegGetUSValueA. The next is C;\Program Files\PhotoDeluxe HE 3.1\PD3.EXE. A device attached to the system is not functioning.Fiddling about looking in my files i noticed that within my common files i had a kodak file with something described DC220 which i suppose could be a description of another kodak camera i found this very strange, if this was so could this cause some kind of conflict. Would be so grateful for any kind of help. Hope my description was not to confusing.

AnswerHi Roy,
At the following site you can download SHELL32DLL:
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?shlwapi
Have you checked for spyware? Ad-aware 6 is a free program that you can download at:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/
Check for updates before running program. After clicking Start, when the Preparing System Scan windows pops up, check Use Custom Scanning Options, then click Customize. Make sure that Activate in-depth scan is checked.
Hope this helps!
