Windows 95/98/Running Windows 95 for the first time

Question
Hi

I am an Administration Assistant, and in my office we have an old computer that was donated that has Windows 95 on it.

Everytime anyone switches the computer on a screen appears that says 'Running Windows 95 for the first time'.

Now this should only appear when Windows 95 has been installed.  Is there any way that I can get rid of this starting up message?

Thanks
Stewart Booth

Answer
Hi Stewart, that file should have deleted itself after the first bootup. But since it's still there, you can probably delete the image for it. Go to the C:\Windows\ folder and go into Detail View. Sort the files by FILE TYPE. Look for BMP or JPG files and open each one to see which one of them has that image saying that "Running Windows 95 for the first" time message. Delete it and that should remove the message.
