Windows NT/Copy shared Folders

Question
Hello!

My name is Assaf and I have a question regarding copying folders. My server is Windows NT 4 with NTFS. I have 2 80GB hard drives on the server. I want to know how can I copy shared folders from one drive to another along with the sharing and permissions already set on the folders. In other words, I need to copy the folder with the exact same sharings to a different drive. How can I do that in NT4? Please, I would appreciate your response.

Thank you in advance,
Assaf Lasry

Answer
Hi Assaf,

You can't do this with the copy command. However, the permissions are moved over if you use the move command (like cut and paste). There may be 3rd party tools that you could use for this, but I'm sure they would have an expense with them and I can't personally recommend one as I have not used any.

Cheers,

Chris
