Windows NT - NT4 Cloning...Please Help

Expert: Chris Schuh - 5/11/2006

Question
Hello Chris,

I have a hardrive (40gig) with Windows NT 4 Sp6. Inside the hardrive are some programs/documents/files of our company. I want to upgrade the hardrive to 120gig without unistalling/reinstalling the programs and files. Therefore, an option to this is to clone my old hdd to the new one.

Question:  How do I clone my harddisk to the new one? Please Help.

Answer
Hi Mike,

Unfortunately, this isn't really an option with Windows NT. The Operating System can be cloned with software, but I have yet to see it work when there's been a hardware change as well. You can try it, but you'll need to purchase Norton Ghost (www.symantec.com).

Cheers,

Chris
