Windows NT - Pre-installed windows

Expert: Chris Schuh - 6/22/2006

Question
Hi Chris,
I have a laptop which has a slow, low capacity harddrive I would like to put a faster larger drive in it.
Do I have buy windows again or if you already have a  preinstalled version can you get a disc to reinstall it on your new hard drive.
Cheers

Answer
Hi Paul,

If you don't have the CD, then you would have to purchase Windows again to get a new CD and install that on the new drive. If you had the CD with Windows on it, then you'd be fine with just getting the drive installed and you could put Windows on it with your disc.

Cheers,

Chris
