I think, the most important is the first (above) raw.
But if you need the addresses, I will write them down.
I am a system administrator in the company. What I did, I just cannot explain why. It's so crazy... I new that XP 'marks' the connected drives and overwrite some sensational system files.
I cannon re-install this computer, because the drivers of the selfmade ISA cards and the measurement software are not available anymore. The supplier company doesn't exist anymore for years. And there is no installation software. Only the directories in the 'ProgramFiles'. So my only chance to recover OS. Or maybe there is a possibility to import(copy)already installed directories to the fresh installed system with sys.diff? I have never did it. Can you advise me?
With best regards,
Violetta

-----Question-----
Dear Experts,
I desperately need to recover WinNT4 SP3 OS.
I wanted to make Image of the partition and I've connected the HardDisk of this 'NT-computer' to another 'XP-computer' as a 'Slave'. On 'XP-computer' the "Acronis True Image" software is installed. I have started XP-machine and I have made an image of the secondary disk. When I 've connected the NT-disk back to original NT-machine I've got blue screen with error message "NTOSKERNEL"...
Now I have understood, that I have made a terrible mistake.
What I can do to recover the Operating system?

Hi Violetta,
Can you please give me the exact error message? Please note that something like this might not be fixable and you may have to wipe the drive and start over.
Cheers,
Chris
Answer Hi Violetta,
I hate to say this, but I don't think you'll be able to recover this machine. I'd say your best option (if you can still access the drives) is to back up all of the data and then scrap these drives. If you manage to track down the drivers to use to wipe the drive and re-install Windows NT, then that's great. Otherwise, a new hard drive will have to be purchased.
You won't be able to recover any of the software or any of the OS - just the data. I wouldn't even spend time on it, as I'm sure you're aware you can't copy over program files to install programs on various computers.
