Question QUESTION: Hi Hrire,
I have two computers at my home connected through a device which works as a modem and a switch. My internet connection is Broadband. When I connect to internet from a computer and disconnect later the other computer can not connet to internet after that.It shows "connecting through wan miniport(PPPoE)" and stuck there. If I reset the modem the problem solves.
How can I solve the problem without resetting the modem?
ANSWER: You will have to go into the router configuration and set it up so that it is a broadband DHCP connection is pppoe and ensure that the userid and password are correct.
If it works always for one computer but not the other, it could be that the problem computer has the software installed for connecting to it. You should take out that software and try to let the modem control the connection.

QUESTION: No the problem does not happen for a specific computer. The name of the two computers are amd and amd2.
When I start(power on) the modem and at first if I connect to internet from amd I can connect and disconnect to internet from amd as many time as possible. But if I try to connect to internet from amd2 it can not connect to internet.
Same case happens when I start the modem and at first if I connect to internet from amd2 after disconnecting I can not connect to internet from amd.
What can be the problem?
Answer HI there.
I'm going to suggest that you leave the modem on all the time. Usually if you power off/on the modem each time, the network addresses don't translate well. If you leave the modem on and only turn the PCs off and on, you should be okay...but let me know if that still causes a problem.
