Expert: Hrire Mikaelian - 8/10/2008

Question
Hi Hrire,
my current machine A cannot connect to another machine B with noip service(DDNS) via the registered DNS.
but coonecting to it via IP address is OK.
i've try other machine C to do the same thing to machine B.
it's ok too.
so there must be something wrong with my machines A.
But I connect to other machines(via ip or DNS)using A
with NO problems.
But anytime when A try to connect to the DDNS machine.
it fail.
that A is installed with MS XP.
all info I can provide now is listed above.
I can provide more info if you need.
can you help me solve this stuff.?

Answer
Hi There.

I am going to to suggest that you disable any firewall or antivirus on the machine B.  There might be items that block DDNS and other services through the firewall or your virusscan software.

If things work after this, then you can try to create exclusions to virus rules, so that you can enable your virus scanner, but at the same time allow DDNS and other needed services to connect to that station.

I hope that gives you some ideas.
