Windows Networking - Orange Livebox wireless confic

Expert: Hrire Mikaelian - 10/26/2009

Question
Hi.

I have an Orange Livebox, which I have 'up and running' with both my home pc (wired) and with my personall netbook (wireless).  However, when I have tried to pair my work laptop with the livebox  I am not getting a default gateway assigned.  I have a connection to the livebox, but not to the internet.  Firewall is switched off.  I have tried ip/release and ip/renew.  I have also tried to enter the relevant details in tcp/ip properties, but it still isn't working.  Do you have any ideas?  Many thanks

Answer
Hi Natalie.

I may suggest that your work laptop has some kind of firewall setting or configuration which only allows traffic to route through work IP addresses, and not the Orange Livebox router.

Try doing this.  Disable your network adapter (wired) on the laptop and just try to connect through the wireless only.  See if doing this will help.

I don't know the exact details of the laptop, but see if this works and let me know.

Thanks
