QUESTION: Do you know what a ups is?

UPS is traditionally used to backup your PC in case of power issues.  You should have absolutely no issue plugging in your modem into a UPS because it only draws 12V of power, whereas a PC/monitor easily draw 200W+.

That is why I was asking what exactly are you asking here?
