Windows Networking/Unidentified Network / No Internet Access

Question
QUESTION: Hello,

When I try to connect to my home network on my laptop, it will say that it is connected, but on an "unidentified network" with no Internet access. All other laptops and mobile devices connect to the network fine, except for this particular laptop. I have had no troubles connecting to other networks besides my home network.

Windows' troubleshooter says that there is a problem with the gateway; however, when I type ipconfig /all in Command Prompt, there is a gateway number listed.

I have tried: restarting the router; resetting network adapters; uninstalling/reinstalling network adapter; manually inputting a gateway / IP info; ipconfig /release and /renew in Command Prompt. All my drivers are updated.

ANSWER: hi there

You seem to have done the normal kind of trouble shooting steps already. Could you set the ip properties back to "obtain automatically" and then send me a screen shot, or copy and paste the result of ipconfig /all  please

regards

ANSWER: Hi there

Those settings all check out, so can you ping the router? can you ping 8.8.8.8 (this is google)?

also could you try disabling all the other unused adapters and rebooting.

what we could try next is the gather some info, what have you got in windows event viewer?

also, do you have wireshark?

2.) I am not exactly sure which adapters I should disable, but I did disable adapters related to Bluetooth, because I don't use Bluetooth. Rebooted and no luck.

3.) I am not sure what you mean. What am I supposed to look for in Windows event viewer?

4.) No.

Answer
hi

can you ping the router, 192.168.0.1 ?

can you also try and disable the "bonjour service" in windows services, type services.msc from the run box. start up should be set to disabled, then reboot

in windows event viewer, look under "windows logs" and browse through "system" and "application" its in order by time and look for yellow and red flags from the last boot time.
