Windows Networking - Small Business Server 2003 CALs

Expert: Sean Oriyano - 9/24/2007

Question
I recently purchased 10 device CALs and 5 user, I know how to add users to the server but I am not clear on how to add devices. Any suggestions? Also, Do you know off hand if devices on the network are allowed access to the internal website, or do you need to be a user for that?

Answer
Hi Bonni,

The new CAL packs should have instructions on how to add the licenses.  In the case of the server in most cases you can just go to the licensing icon and increment the number by the amount of licenses you wish to add.

In the case of webservers CALs do not apply as you do not need a CAL to access a website.

Sean
