Expert: Saad Shawwa Date: 8/19/2008 Subject: system restore and disk check errors
Question hi, i'm currently having problems with my computer. everytime i perform a system restore it tells me that windows has detected a file corruption on OS (C:) and to schedule a disk check when i restart my computer. however, when the disk check does run, it automatically cancels by itself. could you please tell me what is wrong with my computer and how to fix it? thanks in advance!
Answer Hello Melissa
do a complete scandisk checkup which is going to take a longer time but it will fix it and you will get rid of the errors
right click on your C: drive and choose properties
then goto Tools Tab
click on "Check Now"
and check the boxes "Automatically fix errors" and " Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors"
press start , it will tell you it will scan after you reboot your system , so schedule the check and reboot , let it fully scan your system

take care and good luck.
