Windows XP - Temporary Internet Files
Expert: Lorry - 10/4/2008
Question I was sent a file via Gmail which I downloaded and proceeded to edit for two hours. I then saved it, forgetting that I actually hadn't saved it to a folder in my hard drive. Is this gone forever? Is there a way to retrieve it.
It seems to save under C - Documents and Settings - My_name - Local Settings - Temporary Internet Files ... and then a sub-folder therein. But nothing I do lets me see the Temp Int Files via Windows Explorer.
Would much appreciate it if I didn't have to re-do all my work! Thanks.
Answer Hi Ed,
With Windows Explorer opened, go to Tools, Folder Options, under the View tab check "Show hidden files and folders" under "Hidden files and folders", click Apply, then OK. Now you should be able to open the file in question.
Just in case that doesn't do the trick, go to Start, Search, For files and folders and do a search for it.
Hope this helps!
Lorry
